Oh dear. I visited Harrogate last weekend (having moved away is why
there haven't been any updates on here in a while), and it seems they're
building houses (three, I'm told) on the coal drops site. They've pulled the
tiles off where the coal used to slide down, and I'm unsure as to what else
will be done before they're finished. When the Bilton Conservation Group
put a sign up at the end I sort-of-assumed the site was safe. It seems
otherwise. I'll try and get some photographs in the next few weeks. |

Thanks to Killian Ukama in Zimbabwe and Jim Stancliffe in the UK for these
photographs and information on the locomotive. Sadly news that came as I was
researching this is that the loco has been cut up and scrapped since these
pictures were taken. |
